We invite all Corporate Organisations to get involved in the most dynamic team building opportunity around, called outrigging.
For the simple fact that no paddling experience is required. Outrigging caters for all age groups and levels of fitness. The fittest canoe will not necessarily take home the prize. It requires teamwork to hurl 160Kgs of fibreglass over a 150-250m distance. Participants will experience the thrill of being involved in there own mini regatta. They will feel the excitement of competition, social interaction and team spirit.
We will co-ordinate a series of 150-250m sprints (usually three heats leading to a final race). The teams compete against each other with three or four boats in each heat, propelling 160Kgs of fibreglass and wood over 250 metres in less than 3 minutes.
There’s a minimum of five people per team/boat, with a maximum of eight. There are only five paddlers in the canoe with PORCC providing the steerer. All teams must have a minimum of 2 females per boat or a ‘resistance devise’ will be fitted to the canoe.
The club has several locations depending on what weather conditions we encounter on the day. Our first preference you can see in the photo shot below. B.Y.R.A sailing club is our Club house. Hosting a great view of the days action with all amenities including hot showers & BBQ facilities to make it a comfortable & enjoyable day for all.
A minimum number of persons to hold the event is 30-35 however this is negotiable.
